I went into this process with my main focus being on aesthetics and LET ME TELL YOU I got so much more!! The education I received from Zach on all things nutrition/wellness/the human body and the mental side of things makes me feel equipped to move about my daily life and make healthy choices based off whatever goals I have now or in the future.

I used to diet and wonder “what am I doing wrong, why aren’t I seeing the progress that I feel like I’m working so hard for” and now I will never have to do that again. I can still eat all the foods I love. Before KLN, I had tried every fad diet I could. I could never stick to any of these long term. I would end up going off whatever diet I was on and just plan to start again on Monday. I would always end up gaining all the weight I had lost and sometimes more. This took a big toll on my self esteem thinking that there was something wrong with me because I could never achieve my fitness and nutrition goals… I found KLN and it is honestly, one of the best decisions I’ve made. I have never stuck with a program for so long. I feel like I am eating more than I ever have in the past. Eating so much more now has eliminated binging and then restricting episodes. I have always had an uncomfortable relationship with food and nutrition. Even though I was pretty active as a kid, I was still ‘the kinda chubby guy’. This led to fluctuations in my weight and, as much as I hate to admit it, fluctuations in my confidence. I started becoming more and more active and saw some improvement but I still wasn’t happy with where I was. That’s until I started KLN with Coach Diana! I noticed one of the guys in my gym having incredible results and decided to try 6 weeks and go from there. Since that time I have lost over 20 lbs. in about 6 months and I’ve been able to keep it off and then some. My clothes fit better, I perform better in the gym, recover faster, sleep better, and just feel all around much more healthy. The little “family of abs” that I discovered hiding around my mid-section doesn’t hurt either. Most importantly, I’ve developed a much healthier relationship with food and my body. Although I’m not quite at my goals yet I know I can reach and maintain them in a healthy, sustainable, and fun way without feeling like I’m depriving myself. I never want to go back to the old me and thanks to Coach D and KLN I know I never will!

My journey with Kate has been one of the most important parts of my life. If only I had all of this knowledge 20 years ago. My experience has been nothing short of amazing. Has it been hard... you bet. At times it was frustrating, of course. But, it was from those times that I learned the most. So what did I learn exactly? NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO ON A DIET. I have a lifestyle, I guess you could say! Learning about macros and flexible nutrition is only a portion of what I will take away. I know how to manage my nutrition for weight loss, fat loss (there is a difference and I know what that is now), for just maintaining what I have achieved, for holidays, for vacations. I will never label food as ‘good’ or ‘bad’. Food is an experience, food creates memories. I will never feel like I have to do all the burpees to make up for that large fry I ordered. I also know how to make the most of what I eat by choosing nutrient-dense foods, and how good I feel when I am getting what my body needs. I have learned that the scale is not a big deal for me. Body composition, the way my clothes fit, that healthy glow that I radiate - those things are much higher on the list for me. I have been working with Kate for almost two years. When I started, I had just had my medicine for diabetes doubled and was taking cholesterol medicine as well. It was a rocky start but Kate was there to encourage me and support me to keep going. I questioned myself a lot in the beginning but I kept getting up every day, kept tracking and kept checking in and getting support and encouragement and started seeing progress. In August of this year, approximately a year and a half since starting with Kate, I was taken off all my medication and told my lab values were completely normal!! I’ve had a complete mindset change when it comes to food; I still struggle some but Kate has been there to see me through when those struggles seem insurmountable to keep me headed in the right direction. When I realized that my relationship with food was terrible, I finally decided to hire a nutrition coach. I thought I knew what macros were, but my macros only included chicken, broccoli, almonds, and protein powder. I was overweight and just plain unhappy. My amazing wife encouraged me to contact KLN. Kate set me up with Diana and off I went. Diana held my hand and encouraged me. My initial goal was just to get the weight off. Through consistency I was able to go from 268 pounds to around 212. I retained most of my strength and now I’m transitioning to learning how to fuel my activities. I feel great, look awesome and can run again for the first time in 4 years while rocking my daily CrossFit workouts. Most importantly, my years of on again off again dieting are over. My goal in working with KLN was to lose weight and improve my performance in the gym. Kate gives you all the tools to succeed: weekly check-ins, online support, and cookbooks. She is available with questions and will help you plan for eating out or vacation trips. Also, the flexibility of being able to eat your favorite foods or desserts helps to stay on track without feeling totally restricted. I dropped from 251 to 210 pounds. I went from size 38 jeans to 32-33. My energy levels in workouts in the gym are much higher. I have faster times and much improved gymnastic skills in CrossFit workouts. If you follow Kate’s guidance, be consistent, and hold yourself accountable you will be successful.

Whitney is a fantastic coach who continually kept me motivated and worked to find solutions that met the life I am currently living (not the imaginary version of me who is good all the time). My goal in working with Kate was to maintain my body weight while increasing my endurance workouts, specifically for long runs. Kate helped me dial in my nutrition. The underlying goal was not to lose strength while training for this long run and Kate got that even though I didn’t say it. I felt properly fueled for the workouts. I never felt starved, even after 20 mile runs. The big bonus was that my gym workouts improved, too. Yep, I got stronger. My body weight remained constant, though I think my body composition may have gotten a little leaner and I’ll take that as a win. Kate was super supportive throughout the process. She asked the right questions to survey where we were before making adjustments to the plan. Her responses to questions and check-ins was spot on.

I came to KLN overwhelmed by content creators online telling me what was “right” and “wrong”, often overcomplicating things or simply spewing incorrect information. I simply didn’t know much about nutrition and had never tracked my food before and didn’t even know what macronutrients were before starting.

I made the decision to hire a coach through KLN because I did extensive research on many different coaching platforms, and I appreciated that they emphasized non-restrictive sustainable habits that help accomplish goals while still enjoying what I eat.
