WHITNEY'S TOP 3 MACRO-FRIENDLY FAVORITES
I try to keep my typical diet full of whole foods like lean proteins and fruits and vegetables, but sometimes I just need something delicious that I don’t have to make from scratch. Here are three of my favorite macro-friendly items that I can’t live without.
1 | Food Network French Style Dijon Balsamic Vinaigrette
0P | 2.5F | 4C per serving
I truly believe that this vinaigrette was made for the sole purpose of tasting delicious, and the macros just happened to be fantastic. It really does not taste like a normal, tasteless low-fat dressing. I have a salad (arugula, cucumbers, tomatoes, and mozzarella or feta cheese) for lunch every single day and have yet to get tired of this dressing. I’ve gone through four bottles in two months. It is that good.
2 | Dave’s Killer Bread
5P | 2F | 22C (+5g fiber!) per slice
I love toast. I usually start and end my day with a piece of toast. I particularly like Dave’s Killer because it is higher in protein and fiber than typical bread, so it keeps me feeling full for longer. It tastes great, and there is also a thin-sliced version which is a great option if you have fewer carbs to spare, or if you happen to be a sandwich person instead of a toast person.
3 | Dreyer’s (or Edy’s) Slow Churned Ice Cream
3P | 3.5F | 19C per serving
I used to be on the protein ice cream bandwagon (I’m looking at you, Halo Top and Enlightened), but I haven’t gone back since trying the Dreyer’s Slow Churned. For just a few more calories, you get real creamy ice cream instead of the funky aftertaste of the fake sugars in protein ice cream. This is my go-to treat to help satisfy my sweet tooth without derailing my whole day. My favorite flavors are Mississippi Mud Pie, Fudge Tracks, and Butter Pecan.
